Galway hotel prices considered too high

GALWAY is the most expensive city in Ireland when it comes to hotel room prices according to a new extensive survey comparing hotel prices across the country.

The average cost of a night in one of the city’s hotels last year was €132 — that’s more than twenty euro dearer than the cost of staying at a hotel in Dublin where guests were paying an average of €111 for a room in the capital in 2007.

Limerick had the cheapest hotel accommodation of all the cities, with the average room costing €79 per night, while hotels in Cork were found to be charging an average of €120 for a room.

This is the second year running that Galway has topped the survey of expensive hotel accommodation carried out by internet website Hotels.com, but local tourism representatives say they have had no complaints from visitors to the city.

Excellent! Thanks for doing this…it’s really nice to know that I’m not alone on a lot of these things.
